Kenneth Mitchum Scholarship
Maria Mitchum, former choir director of the Saints Constantine and Helen Choir, established this scholarship to honor the memory of her husband, Kenneth Ray Mitchum, after his sudden death in 1986. The purpose of this award is to assist and promote the musical education of talented students in the fields of Music Theory, Music Performance (Vocal/Instrumental), or Music Education.
A music scholarship, the Kenneth Mitchum Scholarship, is available to a college student pursuing a degree in music.
Eligibility for Scholarship
A. Applicant must be Orthodox
B. Applicant must be a member of the Eastern Federation of the Diocese of New Jersey
C. Applicant must be or have been a member of an Orthodox choir
D. Applicant must have a grade point average of 2.75 or better and belong to one of the following categories: (1) The applicant must be enrolled in an accredited School of Music or (2) The applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate enrolled in an accredited College or University majoring or minoring in music
