Philoptochos Society
The dedicated labor of the faithful Greek Orthodox women of the Philoptochos Society promotes the charitable, benevolent and philanthropic purposes of the Church by instructional programming, presentations, lectures, seminars and other educational resources. They voluntarily aid the poor, the destitute, the hungry, the aged, the sick, the unemployed, the orphaned, the imprisoned, the widowed, the handicapped, the victims of disasters, to undertake the burial of impoverished persons and to offer assistance to anyone who may need the help of the Church through special funds or solicitations.

Ladies Philoptochos Society Scholarship
You are eligible to apply for these scholarships if you:
- Are a member, in good standing, of the SS Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Newport News, VA
- A member in good standing means:
- you have been baptized or chrismated as an Orthodox Christian
- you/your parents are stewards of the church and
- have the previous year's financial obligation fully satisfied
- have a submitted a current year's pledge
Applications must be postmarked by US Mail by April 25 each year.
