Feed the Hungry Ministry
In discharging the stated objective of supporting the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank, our Missions Ministry has embraced this signature ministry. People are hungry and lack the resources for food. The Covid 19 crisis merely accentuated this perennial issue. We encourage all our parishioners from the youngest to the oldest to bring a non-perishable food item to church every Sunday to be placed in the collection boxes for distribution by the Virginia Peninsula Food Bank to those in need throughout Hampton Roads.
This simple gesture of bringing one can of soup each Sunday will also bring you closer to the Lord as you follow His word. Christ said, "WHEN I WAS HUNGRY YOU GAVE ME FOOD" (Matthew 25:35). And when His time came, He gave us spiritual food. He said, "TAKE, EAT, THIS IS MY BODY WHICH IS BROKEN FOR YOU FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS."
The Virginia Peninsula Food Bank is also very grateful for any monetary donations, which can be made at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/sschgoc-sschgoc. If mailing a check directly to the VA Peninsula Foodbank, please mark the outside of the envelope to the attention of: Christina Bosco and write Sts. Constantine & Helen Church on the memo line. Check donations may also be made out to the church and donations are forwarded to the Foodbank.
PRAY WITH US FOR THOSE IN NEED, "AND DO NOT FORGET TO DO GOOD AND TO SHARE WITH OTHERS, FOR WITH SUCH SACRIFICES GOD IS WELL PLEASED." (Hebrews 13:16)
